Over 5 days a small group from NVGC had two and a half days flying. Monday was pleasant , great views . Tuesday looked promising but with very light winds another day for an aerotow and scenic views. There were some area of zero but the day finished with just sufficient wind for the DG1000 [with Dave Mansfield and Chris Hill] to gain 300 feet on the ridge before another wind changed stopped the ridge working. Roger Emms was coerced into the back seat to fly some BI flights for YGC and also flew with Paul Rose ( a friend of NVGC) from the Lakes Gliding Club. Paul managed to get his, and everyone elses pictures from the five days and produced a dvd , picture dvd and picture cd on the Thursday [this was after he fixed his brakes on his trailer] as the wind, (which we were waiting for) blew straight onto the ridge but at about 50-60 knots with rain for good measure, still the birds enjoyed it, and the last of the Summer Wine Trio walked to to Gormire Lake
pennisula to try the "leaning into wind" exercise.
the wind from the southwest 50-60 knots
For more pictures ask Roger Emms or Dave Mansfield to see the Picture DVDs after flying.
The January expedition was just two people Chris Hill and Chris Shepperd -- this time wave was there and also the ridge was working.

The sunset pictures of wave about Thirsk are stunning
