Many, many congratulations go to Roger Morrisroe (our Romo) on recognition of his 50 years service to the sport of gliding in receiving not just one but two prestigious awards.

This Saturday Romo will be attending the BGA AGM to be presented with the coveted BGA Diploma in recognition of his outstanding ‘Services to Gliding’ during the last 50 years as a Gliding Instructor.

Following this on the 27^th April Romo will be attending the annual RAeC (Royal Aero Club) Awards Ceremony at RAF Hendon to be presented with a RAeC ‘Certificate of Merit’ in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the sport of gliding during the last 50 years. Other RAeC 2010 award winners attending this event include Paul Bonhomme, the first British pilot to win the Red Bull Air Race, World Balloon record holder David Hempleman-Adams and from the sport of gliding Gold medal winners Russell Cheetham and Pete Harvey – so he’ll be rubbing shoulders with the very best of them at this celebrated gala event.

I’m sure you’ll all agree that Romo truly deserves this accolade for his unswerving commitment during the last 50 years to both the sport of gliding and more recently to the Nene Valley Gliding Club.

I’m also sure that you’d all like to join me in congratulating him on this truly outstanding achievement, well done Romo we’re all very proud of you!!!!!
