Many many thanks for the presentation on Saturday evening. I knew absolutely nothing about it and thought you all were there to go bowling, it was only when I spotted my wife and daughter (Daisy`s mum) at the back of the crowd that I realised something was a foot.
The presentation was to celebrate my retirement as your CFI and 50 years instructing. But I will stay in post until Steve has completed his Full Rating and takes over. The BGA  have given me a short extension to do this.
My 50 years instructing is made up with starting instructing at 616 VGS RAF Henlow in September 1959 to February 1991, and from April 1987 to date at NVGC.
The presentation consisted of an engraved Decanter, glasses and a bottle of malt whisky. The engraving was of the NVGC motif and celebrating 50 years instructing.  This is something that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Phil and Richard Boyton made humorous speeches.
As Phil said he got Richard to do his as he was the last person I sent solo. Phil said that the first persons I sent solo were not available, he thought it was the Wright brothers!!!
I would like to thank everybody for all the help and cooperation that I have had from you all through the years and hope to be able to continue to fly with you all for many years to come.
